backstory

Brennus Mortem was born 6 january 1994 in the city of athens, greece。 he is the sole child of bianca lee、a korean exchange student in greece、and thanatos、the god of death himself。 the sudden conception brought problems to himself and his mother who belonged to a conservative family。 the young bianca no other choice than to raise a child on her own。as a child、 he felt the love he needed from his mother who never missed the chance to provide him with love and support。 as for his father、 the only memory he has of him is when he visited on his fourth birthday to say that his abilities will start to manifest from then on。 in his words、 life would now start being a living hell.it was not the kind of birthday greeting a child would expect but mortem understood just fine。 he decided to erase his father out of his life after that incident。but it was not that easy to ignore half of who he is。

as his developing years came、 so did his demigod abilities。 this brought a new set of dilemma for himself and his single mother who was barely making ends meet。 his pre-teen to puberty years were the toughest、 but he persevered thanks to his eomma's support。at 18 years old、 they decided to move back to korea for his college education。 things were going well until his mother acquired an incurable disease。 time seemed to fly faster as mortem was orphaned at the age of 19。his grandparents would not take him to live with them。 They believe it was mortem's father who took the life of their daughter (knowing very well who his father is)。 they also believe that mortem himself knew exactly when his mother would die and yet refused to do anything about it。abandoned by his maternal family、 and having no connections to his paternal one、 he decided to live on his own。the demigod soon graduated with a degree in civil engineering。

he practiced as one for a few years before shifting careers to being a mathematics professor in the same university he graduated in. he believes that his mathematical genes came from his mother、 who majored in statistics、 and the fact that mathematic symbols are mostly greek letters。numbers actually speak to him。

abilities

(ㅤ01ㅤ) flightmortem has black avian wings that enable him to fly。 this first manifested at his thirteenth birthday。 flying is a skill he has not mastered because he keeps his wings hidden and he believes it is not safe to be spotted flying around the city。(ㅤ02ㅤ) sensing deathas the child of the god of death、 mortem has a sixth sense when it comes to when and how people would die。 among his abilities、 this was the first one to manifest at young age of seven。 this is also the reason why he hates going to hospitals and working in a danger-prone area。 this is a curse that doesn't exclude anybody

(ㅤ03ㅤ) shadow travelaside from his wings、 mortem can also travel through shadows。 this is a skill he has mastered thanks to his time as a working student。 when he is late for an exam or for work、 all he had to do is find a dark place and be one with the shadows。 he has the ability to make them seem like portals for him to use。(ㅤ04ㅤ) inflicting pain and reducing one's life forceout of all his abilities、 this is the only one offense-related。 mortem can torture people without moving an inch。 it wasn't until the high school bully was screaming with pain that he realizes his ability to inflict it using his mind。 personally、 he finds this ability frightening as he knows just how much he could easily take someone's life with his own hands。

the queen of his life

love does not come easy for many、 even more so for a lonely demigod who has no family to consider his own。mortem was set to take on life as a single mathematics professor who enjoys making music and watching films during his free time。 as his life finally stabilized the age of 25、 he unexpectedly met a fellow demigod named Bellatrix Luna。 she is the daughter of the goddess for the stars、 Asteria。they met through a common friend who happens to be one of mortem's colleague in the university。 they instantly became friends thanks to their

their common love for music and films。 they start dating immediately afterwards。at the age of 26、 he was already living with his girlfriend in an apartment in seoul。 he finally felt what it was like to lead a normal life。 his problems were no longer the dangers of his abilities and true lineage。 all he thought of were bills、 work deadlines、 and how to propose to the woman he loves。a year after they officially start dating、 the couple tied the knot in a small chapel with two random strangers who volunteered as witnesses。 they have been happily married ever since。during his younger years、 mortem thought darkness is the closest to a comforting companion at night。 though he still thinks so、 he knows it's better with a hug from his wife。
